Boxing Day is an old custom going back to the Middle Ages. It is usually celebrated on the 26th of December, the day after Christmas day.
Boxing Day is a public holiday in the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia and in many other countries. In some European countries, such as Romania, Hungary, Germany, Poland, the Netherlands, and Scandinavia, the 26th of December is celebrated as a Second Christmas Day. In some countries it is called a Day of Goodwill. The main feature of this day is giving gifts to people.
The pupils of the 6-th form gathered early in the morning on the 24-th of December to learn more about English Christmas traditions and customs.
They learnt some interesting facts about the tradition of Boxing Day. And what wasn’t less important during the Workshop the pupils got very useful skills how to make wonderful DIY gift boxes to give their friends and relatives. The spirit of the meeting was really amazing! We were looking forward to Christmas wonders and we made one of them with our own hands.
